A 55-foot Christmas tree arrived in Toronto to be installed in Nathan Phillips Square

With the arrival of Toronto's traditional large Christmas tree in Nathan Phillips Square, the area around City Hall is in the Christmas mood. The 55-foot tree arrived at City Hall around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. According to the municipality, the complete installation of this big tree took about eight hours and its decorations will begin in the next few weeks. "The tree will be decorated with 500 ornaments, as well as 20,000 energy-efficient lights, which will make it quite a sight," said Keri Macdonald, the city's director of planning and special events.
