2 pets died in the house fire in Pentangeushan

Authorities say two pets died quickly in a kitchen fire inside a Pentanguish home this morning.
Crews responded to a stove fire call at a small two-story home on Victory Crescent and found smoke coming from the front door and kitchen window.
A woman inside the home woke up to the smell of smoke and was able to escape safely, but authorities say the two cats did not survive.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the fire had spread to the main floor and caused extensive damage.
"Smoke alarms save lives," Fire Chief Richard Reno said after the incident. Test your smoke alarms regularly and replace them at age 10 or so.
