Unusually warm spring weather for this time of year in Toronto
Unusually hot weather is on its way to southern Ontario, with temperatures expected to reach double digits by Friday. Toronto and metropolitan Toronto are expected to reach a maximum of 10C during the day by the end of the week.
As the weather gradually warms, temperatures will rise from 3C on Wednesday to 5C on Thursday.
The average maximum daily temperature in February is around zero degrees Celsius and the average minimum temperature is minus 7 degrees Celsius.
According to meteorologists, the temperature will hit a record on Friday as most areas will reach double digit temperatures. However, rain and partly sunny weather are expected throughout the day.
Despite the unseasonably warm weather, Saturday looks good too, with partly sunny conditions and temperatures expected to reach double digits in many places.
But on Sunday, the air temperature will drop to 4 degrees Celsius, which is still higher than the average seasonal temperature.
A sharp decrease in snowfall this winter has been noticeable in Toronto. Last year, 123 cm of snow fell in January, while this year only 27 cm of snow fell. In 2022, over 150 cm of snow fell in Toronto in the same month.
