Two people arrested on charges of kidnapping for human trafficking in Durham
Two men forced a woman into their car and drove her to a hotel in Mississauga, where they planned to sell her for human trafficking and the sex trade, Durham Regional Police said. These two people were arrested on charges of kidnapping. After the woman did not return to her residence, police were called and reported that she was last seen getting into a car with two unknown men inside.
Authorities later learned that the victim had been communicating with a male suspect earlier that day through the French social networking app Yubo.
It is said that the female victim was supposed to meet the male suspect in the afternoon, but the suspect did not show up. That evening, the victim was walking with one of his friends when the male suspect approached him in a car driven by another man. Then the suspect forced the woman into the car and fled the scene.
Investigators found the female victim and two male suspects at a hotel in Mississauga. Two suspects were arrested and the woman was taken to a safe place. According to the police, he was not physically injured in the incident.
The two men, 19-year-old O'Neil Ford of Oshawa and 20-year-old Deshawn Brown of Pickering, have been charged with kidnapping.
