Toronto, one of the best cities in the world in terms of quality of life for newcomers
Although it may be hard to believe for some who live in Canada, Toronto has recently been recognized as one of the best cities in the world in terms of quality of life for expats.
Although Toronto didn't make the top 10 list, it still ranks well, ranking 25th out of 241 regions globally, according to a new ranking by Mercer.
Toronto was followed by cities like Vienna, Zurich, Auckland and Copenhagen, but Vancouver took the top spot in Canada.
This West Coast metropolis is ranked eighth internationally, behind the cities mentioned above and on a par with Geneva, Frankfurt and Munich.
Vancouver provides its residents with a unique mix of outdoor recreation and lifestyle, which contributes to its quality lifestyle and offers people a great lifestyle along with Toronto and many others on the list.
Factors considered for ranking include healthcare, educational and infrastructure facilities of a particular location, along with political stability and overall socio-cultural environment.
Specifically, in terms of cost of living, Toronto ranks 90th out of 227 metropolitan areas.
