Toronto is throwing a big party for the city's 190th birthday
Toronto is about to turn 190 and the city will be hosting a huge party with fireworks, live performances, markets and more that are free to attend.
Nathan Phillips Square is being prepared on the eve of this celebration and on the occasion of Toronto's birthday this year. Taking place from 3pm to 10pm on March 9th, the Toronto celebration brings together Torontonians, visitors, vendors, restaurants and artists for an exciting night that ends with a fireworks display.
The main program of the celebration will be hosted by Canadian TV personality Rick Campinelli and will be performed by the Canadian Army Forces Band, the Queens Own Rifles Band and Bugles and the Pan Fantasy Steel Band.
The Toronto Market will take up more than 6,000 square feet of space and feature more than 100 local vendors and their handmade goods. We will also have a number of food stalls and a licensed bar serving local craft beers and spirits.
The skating rink will be open all night for all those interested in playing on the ice, and at the end there will be a huge fireworks display over the city.
