John Rusted removed from leadership of British Columbia's Conservative Party, but says she has no intention of leaving(مؤنث)
The British Columbia Conservative Party's board of directors announced that John Rusted had been removed as party leader.
But Rusted told reporters that "nothing has changed" and that he still considers himself the party's leader. He also wrote on social media: "I'm not going anywhere."
AA: Leah Warbs, the party's leader in the provincial legislature, said members would receive clarity on who the real leader is by the end of today.
However, no official announcement had been made as of Wednesday evening.
The board's decision came after months of internal party tensions that had led to the resignation or expulsion of a number of MPs from the caucus.
A letter released today, signed by 20 MPs, said they had "lost confidence in Rusted's leadership."
Trevor Halford, the MP for Surrey-White Rock, said he has been chosen as the party's interim leader, but it remains unclear who will lead the official opposition in the British Columbia legislature.
