The movie theater became unknown after a substance leaked into the building
Following reports that an unknown substance leaked into a movie theater in Van, hundreds of people were evacuated and the police are investigating. According to York Regional Police, officers were called to the Cineplex near Highway 7 and Weston Road around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The police announced that about 200 spectators left the cinema. The entire RioCan Colossus Woodbridge Center, the building that houses the movie theater, was also evacuated but has since reopened and no injuries were reported. Police did not confirm what the substance was or how it happened, but believe the incident was intentional.
