The $70 million Lotto Max draw took place on Tuesday night
The $70 million jackpot and 10 other Maxmillions prizes, each worth $1 million, were drawn Tuesday night, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announced.
"The last time this jackpot reached $70 million was last July," OLG spokesman Tony Bittonetti said in an email. When the LottoMax jackpot reaches $70 million, we and of course the LottoMax players will all be very excited."
For $5, players get three sets of seven numbers from 1 to 49. To win the jackpot, all seven player numbers must match all seven drawing numbers.
There were about 900,000 winners in last Friday's drawing, but no one matched the numbers (05, 06, 07, 18, 22, 34, 36) to win the $60 million prize. As a result, the prize has now increased to $70 million.
The last $70 million jackpot was won on July 25 and split between two people, one in Western Canada and one in British Columbia.
In August, a ticket won the $70 million Lottomax prize that no one claimed, making it the largest unclaimed lottery ticket in Canadian history.
