Significant decrease in rents in Metro Vancouver areas; Downtown most expensive, Seri cheapest
One-bedroom rents have been falling in various parts of the Vancouver metropolitan area over the past two years, according to a new report from liv.rent. Downtown Vancouver has once again been named the most expensive area for one-bedroom rentals, replacing West Point Grey/UBC. The average monthly rent for an unfurnished one-bedroom in Downtown is about $2,760, and in Point Grey/UBC it is $2,735. Meanwhile, the largest annual decrease in furnished rents occurred in Surrey, which is down about $240. Overall, Downtown Vancouver is the most expensive area to rent, and Surrey is the cheapest.
