Brendan Skelnar came to a press day to promote his new film and was in the hot seat.
Skelnar, who co-stars with Blake Lively in "It's Over With You," was surprised in an interview by Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds. The "Deadpool and Wolverine" star shared a video of his conversation with his wife's on-screen love interest.
"It's not every day that a husband gets to interview his wife's love interest in a movie," Reynolds began. It's kind of crazy."
What followed was a hilarious interaction involving Reynolds' mother, Tammy Reynolds, and her "Deadpool and the Wolverine" co-star, Hugh Jackman.
Reynolds quizzed Skelnar about a "stimulating" promotional photo for "It's Over With You" and asked if the actress had a nickname for Lively.
After Reynolds joked that he had been on a "meth trip" for six months, Skelnar asked Reynolds if he wanted to take a break.
"Blake's?" replied Reynolds. Certainly."
Minutes later, Reynolds hugged Skelnar before his mother appeared.
"Well, it's not every day that the lead actor's mother-in-law gets to interview the love interest and the man trying to replace my sweet gummy bear, Ryan," said Tommy Reynolds. Let's dive in, shall we?”
After reading Ryan Reynolds' questions, which included the command "Don't ruin it for me," Ms. Reynolds was intrigued.
"Damn, you're so beautiful," he said to Skelnar. It creeps up on you."
Ryan Reynolds then returned to become Skelnar as his "new father".
They weren't the only ones bothering the actor.
So was Jackman.
"It's not every day that a guy gets to interview the love interest of his best friend's wife and the guy who's trying to replace Ryan as his husband and me as his best friend," Jackman said.
Skelnar praises Jackman's work in "Les Miserables," the video ends with Reynolds and Jackman praising Skelnar, with Jackman joking, "I think we've found the next Wolverine."
The movie "It's over with you" was released in theaters on Friday.
