Recall of nearly 10,000 USB chargers sold on Amazon Canada due to risk of electric shock
Health Canada has announced that approximately 100,000 USB wall chargers sold through Amazon Canada have been recalled due to the risk of electric shock. These chargers were of the Power-7 model with the code US2018 and were released to the market between August 2020 and March 2024.
The products are identified by ASIN IDs B083LBZX1F and B082XPSDFL. After investigation, Health Canada has confirmed an "unacceptable" risk of electric shock in these products and advises consumers to stop using them and discard them. For this reason, it has been recalled that another recall has been made for Toshiba laptop chargers. So far, there have been no reports of physical injuries.
