RCMP tells owners to turn in guns after banned fully automatic model sold in Canada
The RCMP has told owners it is turning over surplus fully automatic firearms to the military after hundreds of firearms were mistakenly identified and allowed into Canada for commercial sale.
Canadian police forces announced that they have registered 245 prohibited weapons after discovering this issue.
Officials have announced that three commercial firearms companies have imported and registered the weapons as the Tower X95 semi-automatic, which is classified as a firearm and can be sold in Canada.
