Home sales increase in Greater Vancouver
In a new report from the Greater Vancouver Association of Realtors, we saw a 3.3 percent increase in home sales in April compared to last year. Despite all the growth, the number of 2,831 homes sold was still below May's 10-year average. We also saw a significant increase in listings of homes available for sale, with 12,491 listings, the highest number since 2020. The median home price has reached $1,205,800, which represents an increase of 2.8% over last year. Andrew Lees, the association's chief economic officer, pointed to the surprising strength of demand and the resilience of homeowners in the face of high borrowing costs.
