Health Canada approves updated Novavax COVID-19 vaccine
The Health Organization has approved the updated version of the Covid-19 vaccine from Novavax.
The agency plans to replace the older version of Nuvaxovid XBB.1.5 with the brand name Nuvaxovid XBB.1.5, according to a Thursday update on Canada's vaccine portal. The new version includes updated antigen combinations that target a new substrate called JN.1.
"After a thorough review, Health Canada has approved this company's JN.1 vaccine," Health Canada announced on its official Twitter page.
In this regard, Health Canada on Tuesday also approved a modern updated vaccine against Covid-19 called Spikevax. This vaccine is aimed at targeting KP. 2. Targeting KP.
The agency is still reviewing Pfizer's updated vaccine, which has the same mRNA formulation as the modern vaccine.
Earlier this month, Health Canada ordered the destruction of the older version of the vaccines as the new vaccines became available.
