Elderly man assaulted at shelter and sent to hospital
An elderly man was taken to the hospital following an attack that took place in a shelter this morning.
Toronto police responded to an initial call of a fight and stabbing at 2:39 a.m. in the area of Islington Avenue and Monogram Place. They later confirmed that the incident involved a gunfight.
Police say a fight broke out between two people, and one of the victims "suffered a superficial laceration to the neck and was taken to the hospital."
Paramedics confirmed they responded to a call about a fight in the area around 2:50 a.m.
After that, the injured person was taken to the hospital and one person is in custody.
