Deadly shooting at Starbucks in Laval, Quebec; one dead, two injured
On the morning of Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a shooting occurred near a Starbucks located at the intersection of Highway 440 and Avenue 100 in Laval, Quebec. A man in his 40s was killed and two others were injured. Quebec Public Security Minister Ian Lafernière announced that all evidence indicates that the shooting was targeted and linked to organized crime. He added that none of the victims were innocent. Quebec police are continuing their investigation and no arrests have been made.
The incident occurred in a busy area and has caused serious concern among residents. Laval Mayor Stéphane Bouyer expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and Starbucks employees, and stressed the need for increased security measures in the area.
