Couple break into room, shoot man in west Edmonton motel Friday
Police say around 7:15 p.m. Friday, a "man and woman" forced their way into a room at the Aurora Motel at 151st Street and 11th Street.
The couple allegedly shot a 30-year-old man inside the room, and police say two bullets went through the suite and hit a house south of the motel.
The shooters then fled to the west.
The photo was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition. Police say no one else was injured.
"At this time, we believe this is an accidental incident," EPS Staff Sgt. Ahmad al-Kroot said in a press release on Saturday. However, when a shooting occurs in a public place like a motel, there is always a public safety concern, and we are thankful that the community was not injured or killed in this incident.
Police have not released any details or descriptions of the shooters.
