Four killed and one injured in an electric car accident in Toronto
After an electric car hit a guardrail and caught fire during the collision, four people died and a woman was seriously injured.
Toronto Police Service officers responded to a crash at Lake Shore Boulevard and Cherry Street early Thursday, October 24.
It is said that the Tesla driver was traveling eastbound at high speed when he lost control and hit the guardrail so hard that the electric car's battery ignited.
According to City News, the electric car quickly caught fire and four people, including the driver, were killed on the spot. Passersby managed to pull a woman out of the car. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to recover.
The Toronto fire department announced that the fire involved only one car, which was quickly contained. The exact cause is still under investigation.
