Cannabis use in Quebec returns to pre-pandemic levels
According to the latest results of the Quebec Cannabis Survey, cannabis use in the province of Quebec has returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2025.
The study found that **16.9% of people over 15** used cannabis in 2025, down from the previous year (18.1% in 2024). The biggest drop in use was seen among **15-20 year olds**, from 21.9% to 19.4%. In the **21-34 year old** age group, use also decreased from 32% to 30.3%, and among **35+** there was a slight change from 13.4% to 12.5%.
In terms of consumption method, **smoking** remains the most common method, with 79% of users using cannabis this way. **Edibles** and **vaping** are next in line at 33% and 28%, respectively.
According to statistics, **41% of consumers use cannabis less than once a month**, while **15.9% use it daily** and **20.2% use it occasionally**.
In terms of product supply, **70% of cannabis users get their cannabis from legal SQDC stores**. Despite the overall decline in consumption, sales from these stores increased **12%** last year to **$741.5 million**.
