Canadian Airlines ranked last in North America for on-time landings
According to a recent report, in the past month, two major Canadian airlines performed poorly in terms of on-time performance among large North American airlines.
According to the report from aviation data company Cirium, about 28% of Air Canada flights, or over 8,700 flights, experienced delays in landing in October, placing the airline in the ninth position out of 10 North American airlines.
Approximately 29% of WestJet flights had delays of more than 15 minutes. The on-time performance for these two airlines was 72% and 71%, respectively, which is lower than the North American average of 80%. This figure represents the lowest performance among regions including Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
Nevertheless, Air Canada improved compared to 68% the previous month, indicating better performance than in the summer.
WestJet confirmed Cirium's figures and stated that numerous factors influenced the results, particularly a weather event affecting their operations in Calgary last month.
