British Columbia real estate prices and listings increase in April
British Columbia's real estate market is booming, as the number of listings in the province increased last month. According to the report of the Real Estate Association of British Columbia (B.C. Real Estate Association), the sale of residential units in April increased by 1.5 percent compared to April last year.
The median home price in British Columbia has also increased to nearly $1 million, up from $992,440 in April last year. In the Greater Vancouver area, the median home price was just over $1.3 million, and in Victoria it was about $983,000.
BCREA data shows that the number of active listings last month reached 36,113, compared to 25,392 in April last year, representing an increase of 42.2 percent. This year, the sale of residential units in British Columbia has reached 23.4 billion dollars, which is a 9.5% increase compared to the first four months of last year.
As summer approaches, BC's real estate market seems to be gaining momentum.
