Southern Alberta Summer Games officially goes to Town of Taber
The Southern Alberta Recreation Association has officially announced that Taber City will host next year's Southern Alberta Summer Games.
These games will be held from July 2 to July 5 and include individual and team sports events around Taber.
Nearly 2,000 athletes and coaches are expected to participate in a variety of sports, including track and field, baseball, basketball, cycling, lacrosse, soccer, swimming and tennis.
Organizers say the return of the Games to Coaldale last year after the pandemic exceeded expectations, bringing with it a huge crowd that helped make for an enjoyable and competitive experience for all.
"We are very excited to host the 2025 Alberta Southern Summer Games in Taber City," said Kelly Ostenberg, President of the Southern Alberta Recreation Association. Based on the feedback we received from new and returning athletes last year, we are sure this year will be exceptional.
