An Etobicoke man has won the $5 million Lotto 649 jackpot
An Etobicoke man has won the $5 million Lotto 649 jackpot. Rodrigo Merino took home the lottery prize money on February 24, 2024. According to a spokesperson for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Rodrigo works in the automotive industry and has been a regular lottery player for the past 10 years.
"I checked my ticket using the OLG app and was surprised to see I won $5 million," he said. "I checked the numbers again and they all matched, but I still couldn't believe it."
Rodrigo plans to buy a house, take care of his children so that they are all financially secure, and save for his future. The winning ticket was purchased at the Browns Line in Etobicoke.
