A woman was injured after the Montreal-Toronto train collided with a car
A 35-year-old woman was seriously injured Monday morning after a Via Rail train collided with a car outside Montreal near Dorval. Train No. 61, which left Montreal for Toronto at 6:50 a.m., collided with a car around 7:45 a.m. in the rural area of Coteau-du-Lac. As a result of this incident, no one was injured and only one emergency exit window between the first and second train cars was broken.
The train is said to have honked its horn several times. According to one of the passengers, most of the people in the train were sleeping when the collision occurred and they woke up from the accident.
The train resumed service at 11:10 a.m., more than three hours after the collision. Trains 63 and 33 were similarly delayed.
