A man has died following an overnight stabbing at a downtown Toronto shelter
A man in his 50s has died following a knife attack at a shelter in downtown Toronto.
Police say they were called to a shelter in the area of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Bathurst Street around 1:55 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived, they found a man in his 50s with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on the spot.
In a statement to CP24, the City of Toronto confirmed the stabbing occurred at a shelter run by Homes First, which receives municipal funding.
