Coquitlam teacher suspended for vaping at school
Stephanie Kastoris, a kindergarten and first grade teacher in Coquitlam School District 43, vaped several times in her classroom and two staff restrooms while teaching in September 2024. Students noticed the odor in the classroom and the restroom. She was also seen vaping while students were waiting in line.
Following this behavior, the school district suspended her for three days without pay in November 2024, after which the case was referred to the British Columbia Commissioner of Teacher Supervision. Kastoris signed a plea agreement that included a formal reprimand, admitting professional misconduct. She also cooperated fully with the investigation and admitted her wrongdoing.
