A crew of marine scientists paddle across the Atlantic for ocean conservation
A crew of four marine scientists are on the verge of a rowing trip across the Atlantic Ocean in the name of ocean conservation.
They will cross the ocean in a 28-foot rowboat, non-stop and unsupported. The women make this trip in two-hour, two-person shifts, one of them paddles and the other sleeps a little.
The team must contend with all kinds of weather, physical fatigue, and lack of sleep while paddling day and night. Organizers estimate that the crew will row 1.5 million strokes and burn 5,000 calories a day during the grueling journey.
