A 55-year-old wedding cake was discovered in a British Columbia couple's freezer

Rochelle Marr's wedding cake sat at the bottom of her freezer for 55 years. He intended to eat it on his 50th wedding anniversary but forgot about it. It wasn't until she and her son decided to clean out the freezer in January that they came across a fruitcake with a note: "Do not open until 2018." 2018 marked her 50th wedding anniversary to Brian Marr, a long-time doctor in the Salmon Arm region of British Columbia. But Brian died in June 2023.

This fruit cake was made by the mother of one of her bridesmaids for their wedding in 1968. His son Travis published this discovery online, which made American talk show host "Kelly Ripa" mention it and it was also mentioned in People magazine. But everyone had one question: How did the cake taste? The answer to this question was given in a family gathering on April 19 with Mar's family, including his children and grandchildren.

All of them said that the taste of the cake after all these years is still delicious and sweet and does not taste stale.
