Maritime Fuels, a longtime player in the Atlantic fuel industry, has filed for bankruptcy.
The company served Maritimers in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
PwC spokeswoman Anuja Agarwal said: “Information relating to proof of insolvency will be sent directly to Maritime's known creditors.
Dan McTeague, president of the Canadian Corporation for Affordable Energy, said the company's bankruptcy is unusual, especially as colder weather approaches.
It's all a grim reality for long-time Maritime Fuels customer David Atchison, who found out about the bankruptcy via social media.
