Homicide detectives were called to the scene after a woman was found dead in her Scarborough apartment early Thursday.

Toronto police were called to a complex in the area of Scarborough Golf Club and Kingston around 4 a.m.

A 40-year-old man called police and said he had hurt the woman, police said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an injured woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. Also, the man who called the police was arrested on the spot.

A video obtained by CTV shows a man in handcuffs sitting on the steps outside the complex. Police said the man and woman knew each other, but did not specify their relationship.
