Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada; What does September 30 mean?
September 30 is observed in Canada as National Truth and Reconciliation Day, a day to remember the victims and survivors of residential schools, as well as to pay tribute to the families and communities affected. The day coincides with Orange Shirt Day, providing an opportunity to reflect on the lasting impact of these schools.
However, in the province of Quebec, things are a little different. Although the day is recognized nationally, it is not an official holiday in Quebec, and most services and activities in Montreal will continue as normal.
If you are in Montreal, it is a good idea to check the status of the services you need before planning your day.
