Toyota is recalling nearly 250,000 RAV4s in Canada due to a fire hazard
Toyota has issued a recall for the RAV4 model affecting hundreds of thousands of vehicles in Canada because of improperly sized 12-volt batteries that could cause fires while driving.
Toyota says the recall covers 249,416 vehicles in Canada from 2013 to 2018.
According to the notice, some replacement 12-volt batteries are larger than others in the sizes specified for vehicles.
Toyota said it is working on a solution and, if available, Toyota dealers will replace the battery retainer clip, battery tray and positive terminal cap at no cost to owners.
Toyota said it will notify affected owners by late December 2023.
