To receive government grants You have until the end of the year
During the holiday season, Canadians can expect to receive the most financial support from the government to help cover their increased living expenses. In this context, the deadline for receiving various assistance from the federal government is as follows:
- Canada Child Benefit (CCB)
Payment deadline: November 20 and December 13
Administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), these payments help with child-rearing costs and are tax-free.
- OTB: Ontario Trillium Benefit
Payment deadline: December 8
The payment, which includes a combination of the Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit, the Northern Ontario Energy Credit and the Ontario Sales Tax Credit, is paid on this date.
- Alberta Child and Family Benefits (ACFB)
Payment deadline: November 27
This tax-free grant is paid to families with children under the age of 18 and is fully funded by the Government of Alberta.
- Canada Advanced Worker Benefits (ACWB)
Payment deadline: January 12, 2024
The payment, a quarterly payment to support low-income Canadians and their families, will be sent on that date. Individuals who are eligible to receive Canada Workers' Compensation benefits are offered upfront payments of 50% of the CWB in three payments under the ACWB.
