Sask. police investigating mischief incident after bomb report in school
Police in Prince Albert are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred after a bomb was reported at a school Friday afternoon.
Around 1:30 p.m., officers were called to a school in the 400 block of East 10th Street to investigate a report of a bomb. Prince Albert Police (PAPS) said in a statement that students had safely evacuated the school before officers arrived.
Upon arrival, police officers conducted a preliminary search inside and outside the school and did not find any explosive devices.
A comprehensive secondary search was also conducted by skilled and tactical officers and again no explosive devices were found and the school was declared safe, police said.
According to the police report, suspects have been identified and located in relation to this incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
Police believe there is no threat to public safety at this time. Traffic restrictions have also been lifted.
