Plane crashes near Nanaimo; police say no survivors found
Police say there are no survivors after a plane crashed near Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Nanaimo have not yet confirmed the type of plane or the number of people on board.
They said in a news release that they responded to reports of a plane crash in a wooded area near Twilight Way, near Nanaimo, at around 3 a.m. Thursday.
The plane was found in a large field of debris, police said.
Officers are on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
