Ottawa Police Services Board approves 2024 draft budget with $13.4 million increase
The Ottawa Police Services Board has approved its draft 2024 budget, which includes a $13.4 million increase over last year.
According to documents prepared for the board, the Ottawa Police Service appears to have a net operating budget of $372.4 million. Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs said the service needs to save about $2 million over the next year to keep the budget balanced.
The budget for the police service was kept at around 2.5% of the tax increase as per the budget guidelines.
The budget bill was unanimously approved in the Monday afternoon meeting
