Montreal electric car show exhibits industry’s advancement
The Montreal Electric Vehicle Show attracts electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts and industry leaders. This exhibition displays a wide range of available vehicles including scooters, motorcycles and of course cars.
Professionals related to these fields are also present at the exhibition to show the different ways people interact with this technology, except for buying a car. Young mechanics are excited by the new developments, says Santiago Baptista, who teaches electric vehicle maintenance at Montreal's School of Motor Equipment Mechanics. "Young people love new technologies – they're often more interested, sometimes even more informed than I am," he said.
Some initiatives emphasize the need to recycle electric vehicle batteries, a necessary step to ensure that the replacement of gasoline vehicles is as sustainable as it aims to be.

Experts remind the public that while electric cars are an important step in the fight against climate change, they are not enough on their own. "This has to happen by reducing the number of cars on the road," said Blandin Sabilo, Ektor Electric Transport Project Manager.
Quebec Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy Pierre Fitzgibbon announced that the province of Quebec will invest $3.3 million in a pilot project from Propulsion Quebec. They plan to transport goods between Montreal and Quebec with fully electric semi-trucks. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 4000 tons in three years.
Propulsion Quebec CEO Michel Limbias-Monier said the project was designed to "prove that fully electric, carbon-free transportation from company to customer directly is possible."
