Maserati driver critically injures one, seriously injures another in Surrey hit-and-run: police

The driver of the Maserati fled the scene after the severe accident in Surrey that sent two people to the hospital, one of them in critical condition and the other seriously injured.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene at 75th Street near 124th Street around 10:15 p.m. Saturday and found a man pinned between two parked vehicles and another person who had been thrown after the collision, officials said. they found

Investigators reported that a total of five vehicles, including parked and moving vehicles, were struck by the Maserati.

Surrey Police spokesman Ian MacDonald said: "Time was of the essence for the trapped pedestrian."

The 29-year-old man is in critical but stable condition in hospital and Macdonald said: "If it wasn't for the quick work of Surrey Fire and BC Ambulance, we could have been killed. "The other person, a 28-year-old man who was said to have been thrown, suffered serious injuries but is in a stable condition in hospital."

The driver of the Maserati "immediately" ran away from the scene of the accident.

"We can usually very quickly identify the registered owner of the vehicle," McDonald explained. "We can identify who probably owned the vehicle at the time almost as quickly."

He added: "The main challenge is to find the driver behind the wheel and this is where investigations, witnesses and technical matters come in handy, because when one or more people flee from the scene of the accident, they intend to shirk their responsibility. It is our duty to return this responsibility to them."

Anyone with information or video of the crash is asked to call 604-599-0502 and reference case number 1078-2025. They can also submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
