Mark Carney and his wife participate in the tough Ontario Trail Race to celebrate Diana's birthday
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and his wife Diana took part in the breathtaking Haliburton Forest Trail Race in Ontario. The couple successfully completed the 26-kilometer, steep and rocky course; Carney finished 58th out of 120 runners in 3 hours, 45 minutes, 55 seconds, while his wife finished 69th in 3 hours, 53 minutes, 25 seconds.
The event took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, and included several distances, including 12 kilometers, 50 kilometers, 50 miles, and 100 miles. The 26-kilometer course is known for its rugged terrain, making it one of the most difficult trails in Canada.
Carney reportedly took part in the race to celebrate his wife’s birthday. A volunteer at the course said that she ran without any tremors or fatigue, indicating that she had a good track record in trail running. Carney lingered at the finish line for a long time after the race, taking photos with and greeting the participants.
