"Lynx Air" will stop its activities from Monday
Canadian airline Lynx Air has announced that it will cease operations next week. Therefore, passengers of this airline should look for an alternative flight. The Calgary-based company announced Thursday that it had obtained a preliminary injunction from an Alberta court under the Companies' Creditors' Arrangements Act.
Lynx Air cited several factors, including rising operating costs, high fuel prices, exchange rates, rising airport costs and a complex economic and regulatory environment, and said it would cease operations as of 12:01 a.m. on Monday, February 26. According to the airline, most flights will continue through the weekend and anyone whose flight is canceled will be notified by email.
People who booked their flight on or after Monday can contact their credit card company for a refund. The Lynx Air call center will not be available for refunds, the airline said. Operating next week, vouchers will no longer be accepted. Lynx will begin operations in April 2022, flying to destinations across Canada, the United States and Mexico. The airline said that despite the growth recorded in the past two years, the challenges facing the airline have become very difficult to overcome.
WestJet announced in a statement that Lynx Air passengers can use the airline's discounted flights.
