Halifax police officer shoots, kills three dogs that attacked woman
Halifax Regional Police say three large dogs were shot and killed after the animals attacked a woman in Halifax on Tuesday morning. Halifax Regional Police were dispatched to a home on Frederick Street around 8:40 a.m.
According to police, the dogs attacked the woman and when an officer tried to intervene, the animals charged at the officer. Police say the male officer fired his weapon, hitting and killing the dogs. The dogs died at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not injured. Halifax Regional Police are currently on the scene and are investigating the incident. No other details are available at this time.
