Former RBC employee arrested for unauthorized access to accounts of Canadian PM and officials
Following the arrest of former Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) employee Ibrahim Al-Hakim, who was arrested for unauthorized access to sensitive accounts of government officials, including the Prime Minister of Canada, RBC said it has taken all necessary measures to protect customer information and is fully cooperating with security authorities.
The RCMP and Canada’s Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) have launched an extensive investigation into the matter. However, no threat to national security has been identified so far.
The next court date for the case is set for October 1, 2025.
