"Fatal shooting in Brampton; 39-year-old man killed"
Brampton shooting: Police say it was 'targeted'
Peel police are investigating a fatal shooting in Brampton, saying evidence suggests it was targeted and premeditated. The shooting took place in a community center parking lot Saturday night, killing a 39-year-old man.
Where was the scene?
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. near Loafers Lake Lane and Conestoga Drive, between the Paul Palleschi Recreation Center and Cyril Clark Public Library.
When officers arrived, they found a Hamilton man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound and, despite efforts to save him, he died at the scene.
Suspect(s) fleeing
The suspects fled north in a white Acura RDX after the shooting. Police found the vehicle an hour later, but there are no specific leads on the suspects.
What is the nature of the incident?
According to the latest police statement:
The shooting occurred at very close range
There is no indication of a random encounter, street fight or blind violence
All evidence points to a specific, targeted attack
A police spokesperson said it is not yet clear what the relationship was between the victim and the attacker.

Peel police are asking residents in the area to:
If they have dashcam or security footage
If they have seen suspicious movement
Or have information about the suspects
To call police or report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
