Senior Sergeant George Hall, who had been reported missing since Tuesday, was found on Friday.
A statement from the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces confirmed that he had passed away and that the Canadian Military Police were working with Latvian authorities to investigate the matter.
The statement also stressed that there was no indication that his death posed an additional threat to the safety and security of other deployed forces.
Hall was a vehicle technician with the 408th Tactical Helicopter Squadron and had joined the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia as part of operations with the Airborne Battalion.
He had 20 years of service.
The circumstances of his death are still under investigation.
