Christmas Day was warmer than normal across most of Canada
Much of Canada from Ontario to the Mary Thames experienced warmer-than-normal Christmas with temperatures above freezing, while the West Coast saw heavy rain. Environment Canada had issued fog warnings for most of Ontario from Windsor in the southwest, Niagara to Belleville.
In Montreal and Ottawa, people woke up to cloudy skies and frozen ground. According to Environment Canada, Alberta saw a sunny day with temperatures above zero, while Vancouver faced a wind warning and possible flooding near Tofino.
