Canadian Blood Services seeks 30,000 donors amid holidays: ‘It saves lives’
Blood Donor Canada is looking for 30,000 volunteers over the Christmas and New Year holidays. The organization says donating blood is especially important at this time of year because many people are hospitalized or receiving treatment at this time.
Blood Services Canada says the blood is needed to treat patients who need surgery, chemotherapy or transplants. The organization also says that blood is vital to save the lives of people who have been injured in accidents or incidents.
Donating blood is a safe and simple process that only takes a few minutes. People over 17 years of age who weigh more than 50 kg can donate blood.
To donate blood, you can visit one of the Canadian Blood Services blood donation centers. These centers are located across Canada.
Canadian Blood Services is asking everyone to donate blood this holiday season and help save lives.
