An extended period of "extremely cold" weather is expected in Toronto
Cold temperatures are expected to remain around the GTA next week, with temperatures reaching -20 degrees Celsius at times.
Toronto is expected to be minus 9 degrees Celsius today, but with a wind chill, the temperature will be closer to -15. The minimum at night will be -12 degrees Celsius and -18 degrees Celsius.
CP24 meteorologist Bill Coulter said today, "The cold weather will remain for a long time in south central Ontario this week.
Storms are expected in Toronto most days of the week.
Coulter said the bitter cold will continue into next weekend.
He added: The warm winds will bring the temperature back above normal for January 22.
