American liquor temporarily returns to Nova Scotia stores
Starting Monday, NSLC stores in Nova Scotia will temporarily restock U.S.-made liquor.
The Nova Scotia government announced last week that it plans to sell $14 million in remaining U.S. liquor that was previously purchased. The province has been banning the import and sale of U.S. alcoholic beverages since March 4 in response to U.S. tariffs on Canada.
The inventory, which includes a variety of wines and spirits, will be back on store shelves.
About $4 million in profits from the sales will go to Feed Nova Scotia and other food advocacy groups, the government said.
Premier Tim Houston said no new orders for U.S. liquor will be placed after the inventory runs out. It is expected to take several months to sell out.
