A murder that killed a pregnant woman and her husband
Durham Regional Police Service is investigating a homicide case that left a pregnant woman and her husband dead in Bowmanville last year. Officers were called to a home on Crombie Street on February 4, 2023, at around 2pm on Saturday after receiving a call to check on a couple. When the police arrived, they found two dead bodies. The couple was identified as 28-year-old Aram Kamel and his 26-year-old wife Rafad Al-Zabidi.
Durham police said the cause of death was gunshot wounds to both people, and the number of suspects wanted is unknown.
An informed source has informed that at the time of this incident, a suspicious car was present outside the Aram and Rafad house and its images are now in the hands of the Durham Police.
Aram owned a jewelry store in Toronto and had a workshop in their Bowmanville home, where the couple lived for almost two years.
The pair were the third and fourth homicide victims in County Durham in 2023. Durham Regional Police are due to release more information about the case.
